Strengthening the Market Deployment of Taiwan-India Electrical and Electronic Industry when Easing the International Epidemic Restrictions

After the population traveling movement around Taiwan and the reunion of families during the vacation of lunar new year, the COVID-19 epidemic on a whole island seemed to be under control. It is vital to lift some restrictions gradually, resume citizens’normal life and allow the border arrival to foreign businessmen stated by Mr. Su Tsengchang, Premier of Executive Yuan. Meanwhile the country borders of India, Thailand, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland have been opened one by one. From the burst of coronavirus in 2020, the oversea traveling has been prohibited by our government for 2 years. Due to ease of border restriction on many countries, it should be considered how to restore Taiwan-India industrial cooperation said by TEEMA C h a i rman Ri c h a rd Lee.
Recently Foxconn’s joint venture with Indian company Vedanta launches for manufacturing semiconductor in India as the symbol of good beginning. TEEMA observes manufacturing bases and factories in Chennai, Bangalore, Sri City of Southern India established by Foxconn, Wistron, Pegatron, Delta Electronics, Foxlink, Zhen Ding Tech from Taiwan have formed an electronics belt. Many international enterprises such as Broadcom, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Xilinx, Amphenol, Panasonic, Samsung, BYD, Ofilm have branches and plants on the South of India.
The triangle area with Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad overlapped into the electronics belt is becoming the ICT special zone involving with the coordination and combination of electronics hardware and software. That is why TEEMA will have the visiting delegation to the South of India in this year to help members reaching to India huge market if the mandatory quarantine for arrivals could be shortened to 5 days by Taiwan CDC.
