TEEMA and TAITRA Overseas Offices Collaborate on International Business

Japanese Government Plans to Initiate Carbon Capture and Storage by 2030
On December 23, 2021, Mr. Kevin Wu, Executive Director of General Administration Department of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) led 9 colleagues who are going to serve as directors of TAITRA overseas offices (Taiwan Trade Centers) in Poland, Australia, Sri Lanka, India, the Philippines, Iran, Ukraine, Africa and Dubai to visit TEEMA. In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Roger Liao, Vice President of TEEMA mentioned that TEEMA sets up Taiwan Pavilions at over 50 global trade shows each year all over the world before the COVID-19 outbreak, and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with TAITRA’s overseas offices in the future. Executive Director Wu pointed out in his remarks that TAITRA and TEEMA have been co-organizers of “Taipei nternational Electronics Show ( TAITRONICS)” for more than 40 years, demonstrating deep ties between the two organizations.
Founded in 1970, TAITRA is Taiwan’s most important nonprofit trade promoting organization. Sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and industry organizations, TAITRA assists enterprises to expand their global reach. Headquartered in Taipei, TAITRA has a team of 1,300 specialists and operates 5 local offices in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung as well as 63 branches worldwide. The association organizes trade missions to visit various cities around the world to promote Taiwanese industries including automobile parts, hardware, flat panel display, sports equipment, medical equipment and much more. Around 600 Taiwanese companies take part in these trade missions each year. Together with the overseas offices of the MOEA, TAITRA has developed a complete trade network serving as the eyes and ears of Taiwan companies keen to explore international markets.
By collaborating with TAITRA overseas offices, TEEMA is able to provide more comprehensive international services to members, such as assisting them in finding suitable overseas buyers and partners, collec ting updated business i n formation and opportunities in overseas markets, or even reducing international trade barriers, and can therefore contribute to Taiwanese companies’ expansion in the global market.
