Taipei International Professional Exhibitions
TEEMA and TAITRA co-organize a number of renowned large-scale international professional exhibitions annually, including the Taipei International Electronics Show (TAITRONICS), Cross-Strait Electronics Show, Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show, Cross-Strait Automobile Electronics Show, Taiwan International RFID Applications Show, and Broadband Taiwan, which have created tremendous trade opportunities for the Taiwanese electrical and electronic industries over the past 35 years. In the future, faced with new competition and challenge, the association will adhere to the spirit of “profession, service and innovation” augmenting the contents of our exhibition service, so as to help our member companies ascend to another peak in export trade.
 
Committees and Industrial Alliances
To help emerging priority industries cultivate capability for formulating international standards and enhance their technological level, the association, in addition to 36 committees, has formed 6 industrial alliances, in hopes of strengthening unity and integrated capability among companies in the same line, construct up-, mid-, and downstream industrial system, and facilitate technology transfer, so as to develop new products and technologies jointly.
 
Personnel Cultivation
In view of the importance of talent pool for enterprises and Taiwan in facing up international competition, the association has been actively engaged in all-round personnel cultivation and holding serial seminars, explanation sessions, and training classes, with extensive coverage including technique, market, management, environmental protection, financial, tax and monetary practice, trade, and international marketing, in accordance with special projects of the Bureau of Employment and Vocational Training of the Council of Labor Affairs, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and the Small and Medium Business Administration of the MOEA, offering comprehensive multiple on-the-job training opportunities for staffs of member companies.
 
Promotion for Government Policies
We help the government push for its policies, serving as a bridge connecting the industrial arena and the government. We have been active in participating in government’s projects and tasks such as “Intelligent Taiwan”, “Cross-Taiwan Strait Bridging Program”, “Privatization of Defense Resources”, “Innovation-Led Prosperity” (an R&D encouragement project) and ”New Cheng Ho Plan” (a global market expansion plan), etc., providing updated policy information to our members and helping the government put these programs into practice. 
We also collect and represent opinions of our member manufacturers for our government’s reference when it makes policies on certain issues-- such as the proposed signing of “Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA)” between Taiwan and mainland China, Taiwan’s accession to WTO’s Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), and the integration of industrial work division across the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. We were present at related meetings held by government authorities or by ourselves to communicate, coordinate and integrate opinions on common issues, and to have a voice in the process of government policy making, so that we may help create a high-quality industrial environment favorable to our trade.
 
Industrial Development
Keeping pulse of industrial development, we have collaborated with our country’s Industrial Technology Research Institute, Institute for Information Industry, Chung-shan Institute of Science and Technology, Metal Industries Research & Development Center, and Automotive Research & Testing Center, etc., to hold technology and market forums, seminars, result presentations and demonstrations to facilitate exchanges and cooperation among the industries, the academia and research institutes, so as to disseminate new technological and industrial knowledge, to push forward research and innovation, and to consolidate our technical capacity.
We have also linked up with international resources to push for the establishment of product safety standards and certifications which have helped to promote our industrial competitiveness and expand overseas market allowing for more business opportunities.

International Affairs Services
 
Organizing Overseas Exhibitions
To assist member companies making global-market deployment, the association and the Taipei World Trade Center co-organize TAITRONICS Bangkok since 2006 and TAITRONICS India in Chennai since 2007, paving the way for exhibitors to tap the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Indian markets.
 
Overseas Exhibitions
The association organizes the groups to set up Taiwan pavilion at over 30 international exhibitions in more than 10 countries, featuring high profile, professionalism, and leading status, every year, to manifest Taiwan’s industrial strength and augment international profile of cutting-edge Taiwanese products, including CES of the U.S., IFA of Germany, IFSEC of the U.K., CommunicAsia of Singapore, CEATEC of Japan, KES of South Korea, and FPD International of Japan.
 
Overseas Visiting Delegations
To grasp current development of the international electrical and electronic industries, the association organizes delegations to visit industrial leaders, institutions, and organizations abroad, helping member companies absorb international experience and Taiwan augment its industrial strength.
 
Business Matching
In a match-making role, the association organizes trade meetings in Taiwan or mainland China, inviting participation of IPO of major international firms, to facilitate conclusion of deals.
 
Japanese Service Point
The association set up a Japanese liaison office in 1993, in hopes of providing latest Japanese-market information to members, facilitating industrial exchanges between Taiwan and Japan, and helping member companies tap the Japanese market.
 
Countermeasures for International Trade Barriers
To help member companies overcome predicament in international trade and cope with international protectionism and overseas litigations, the association has established an alert system against possible dumping of foreign products to the domestic market and anti-dumping charges against Taiwanese products abroad.
 
Worldwide Sister Associations
The association is enthusiastic in participating in international affairs, having signed the cooperation agreement with 41 related counterparts worldwide, including far-flung Nigeria and neighboring Japan. In addition, we have hosted or participated in a number of major international events in the field annually, such as WEF, ATIE, AEECC, AEF, and FAEMA, fully manifesting our active engagement in international activities.
 
Mainland China Affairs Services
 
Mainland China Exhibitions
In order to help member companies tap the mainland China and global markets, the association organizes exhibition groups for over 10 renowned international or domestic exhibitions in the field in mainland China and Hong Kong, such as Electronics and Information Fair, Hangzhou (organized by TEEMA), Hong Kong Electronics Fair, Taiwan Electronics Show in Shanghai (organized by TEEMA), and Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition.
 
Investment Environment and Risk Survey of Mainland China
Since the investment in mainland China by Taiwan businessmen has become a tendency, the association invites experts from industries, academics, and research bodies in carrying out study, evaluation, and research of the investment environments of various mainland-Chinese municipalities, making suggestions accordingly. The association’s annual “The Investment Environment and Risk Survey of Mainland China” has become the most important reference not only for Taiwanese firms in their investment plan but also for Chinese municipal governments in improving their investment environments, in addition to exerting strong influence on foreign investors, including those from the U.S., Japan, and Australia. The study, therefore, has been instrumental in facilitating cross-Strait economic and trade exchanges.
 
Serial Mainland-China Economic and Trade Seminars
The association has helped member companies understand current economic and trade development in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao, as well as set up contact channels, via holding various summit forums, workshops, seminars, symposiums, and lectures, in addition to regular meetings among Taiwanese executives in China, designed to help Taiwanese businessmen overcome problems confronting their mainland China operations.
 
Mainland China Service Points
The association has set up liaison offices in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Dongguan, Xiamen, Kunshan and Dalian, offering Taiwanese businessmen timely local services and assistance for overcoming various problems. In line with expanding investments in mainland China, we plan to gradually set up new service points in Northern and Central China to meet needs of member companies.
 
Consulting Service for Mainland-China Economy and Trade
The association organizes advisory group consisting of experts, scholars, and industrial representatives to conduct project research on issues related to mainland-China economy and trade, offering consulting service to member companies for their mainland-Chinese investment plans and dispute settlement.
 
Cross-Strait Economic and Trade Visits
The association has organized delegations consisting of representatives from industries, government, academics, and research bodies to make cross-Strait economic and trade visits, for tour of professional exhibitions, visit to electrical and electronics plants, attendance of seminars with local Chinese enterprises or Taiwanese businesses, study of investment environment, and formation of cooperative links, so as to facilitate cross-Strait industrial exchanges.

Government Programs
The association has been actively helping member companies enhance their e-capability via the assistance of government programs, such as “Sub-Project for Deepening e-Industry Application” (www.TEEMAMALL.com.tw) and “G Program”. The two parts of the “G program”, “Green Components Platform” and “EuP Platform”, enables electronic component makers and channel players to input information on constituent substances of their products into its database for retrieval by global buyers, so as to overcome the problems of insufficient information and information flow for Taiwanese firms in their effort to comply with RoHS and other environmental regulations.
 
Assistance for e-Application of Members
The Committee of the Promotion of e-Application for Enterprises and the Software and Network Committee aim, via assistance of industrial experts, to collect information on development status of e-application among enterprises and their needs and pass it to the government for reference, in addition to helping member companies enhance their e-application capability via assistance of government programs.

Our websites provide most authoritative and updated information on products of our manufacturers and industrial activities, which have become major portals for domestic and overseas queries searching for Taiwan’s high technology industries. As part of the trend of internet marketing, some TEEMA websites provide not only professional and innovative services but also diversified marketing channels, which seek to help advertisers create optimal effects of promotion.
 
We have assigned delegates to collect procurement inquiries of buyers from domestic and overseas trade shows, with more than 100,000 entries of buyers’ data accumulated up till now. We send newsletters monthly to these potential buyers to inform them of our latest industrial information, which also helps our websites gain more publicity. Also to raise profile, the website is linked to some other professional sites around the world and exchanges banner ads with them. We also publicize buyers’ inquiries on the channel of Buyer List of the website. We provide over 100 latest procurement inquiries per week, which can be accessed only by TEEMA members.
