Spain’s Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) has completed the turbine installation at six sites that will house close to 200 MW of wind farms in the Spanish region of Galicia.

The Spanish power utility has put up 54 wind turbines for the projects Pena Forcada-Catasol II, Mourinos, Monte Tourado-Eixe, Serra do Punago-Vacariza, Monciro and Pastoriza-Rodeiro, all scattered across the A Coruna and Lugo provinces in the north-west of Spain.

The projects were awarded in the Spanish government’s renewable energy auction in May 2017, Naturgy said.

The company expects to commission the wind farms before the end of 2019. Once the parks go online, they will produce enough power to meet the annual needs of around 270,000 households, which, according to Naturgy, is close to what almost the entire province of Lugo consumes.
