The government wants to spend PLN 19 billion by 2020 on the electromobility development program. It includes the infrastructure for charging electric buses. 780 municipal electric buses will be on Polish streets in the next three years. This represents an exchange of about 7 percent of all city buses in Poland.

Deputy Minister of Development, Jadwiga Emilewicz, said that the government wants the share of urban bus fleet in cities with populationabove 100 thousand grew to 10% by 2020 which would give about 1,000 electric buses traveling in Poland.

On the other hand, the government's E-bus program assumes the creation of a Polish electric bus market worth PLN 2.5 billion annually. The aim of the program is to produce an electric bus mostly composed of Polish parts, the planned sale would amount to about a thousand units annually by 2025. According to the assumptions of the E-bus, a thousand electric buses would run on Polish roads by the 2021.

Also, 2017 will be a period of significant growth in the electric bus market. Not only big cities like Warsaw or Rzeszow will order e-buses, but also by smaller ones, eg Września, Środa Śląska and Strzelin.  According to JMK, between January and December 2017, local government officials will receive between 20 and 30 electrobuses. This will at least double the number of electrical busses on the Polish roads in comparison to year before.

Apart, the electric bus costs about PLN 2 million net in Poland. There is also the development of production of  electric buses, where well-known automakers such as Solaris are starting to compete with new ones, as Ursus is an example. The following companies are producing e-buses in Poland: Solaris, Volvo, Ursus, Autosan. The leader on the electrical busses in Poland is Solaris. The number of delivered and produced electric buses in Solaris's portfolio is growing rapidly and is already over 100 units. Their electrical busses are already running or will soon be in Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Germany, Poland and Sweden.

In addition, Solaris together with a group of nine other entities created a cluster called "Polish Electric Bus - supply chain for electromobility." The cluster includes such entities as AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, EC Group, Ekoenergetyka Polska, Impact Clean Power Technologies , Komel, Medcom, Poznań University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology and SKB Drive Tech. The leader of the venture is Solaris.

Besides, the BYD's Chinese electric bus manufacturer also try it’s hands at entering on the Polish market, and won a tender to supply ten buses to Warsaw city. They were already tested on the streets of Warsaw and met warm welcome from the drivers and passengers.
