Healthcare+Expo Press Conference: Cross-Industry Collaboration between TEEMA and IBMI

Invited by the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI), Mr. Jerry Hsu, Vice Chairman of TEEMA par t i c i p a ted in the “Healthcare+ Expo Press Conference” held by the Legislative Yuan on April 26th, 2022. Distinguished guests included Yu Shyi-kun, President of the Legislative Yuan; Chi-Huey Wong, President of IBMI; Pan-Chyr Yang, Vice President of IBMI; Wu Ming-shiang, Superintendent of National Taiwan University Hospital and Tai-Yuan Chiu, President of Taiwan Medical Association.
Mr. Hsu shared “TEEMA’s BIO+ICT Adventure” and mentioned that Mr. Richard Lee, Chairman of TEEMA had paid special attention to cross-industry collaboration between the biotechnology industry and the ICT industry. TEEMA co-organized several forums together with various research centers in order to discuss how to integrate ICT applications with medical care, how to analyze AIOT trends and explore transformation and innovation strategies. Since 2020, TEEMA has actively encouraged member companies to participate in the annual “Healthcare+ Expo” sponsored by IBMI every year.
In his remarks, Yu Shyi-kun, President of the Legislative Yuan, said that “Healthcare+ Expo”, which is entering its 6th year, has become the world’s sixth largest international medical expo. It provides an important platform for public and private sectors to jointly promote the world’s health industry. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, “2021 Healthcare+ Expo” attracted more than 600 exhibitors and 180,000 visitors.
Many of TEEMA’s member companies have cooperated with the biotechnology and medical companies in recent years. The collaboration between BIO and ICT is clearly an on-going trend. TEEMA will continue to work closely with IMBI to help the bio-medical industry accelerate digital transformation. TEEMA will also bring in the latest semiconductor devices and innovative electronic products to the bio-medical industr y to jointly create new ecosystems and applications for the benefit of patients and seniors.
