Taipei Int’l Automobile Electronics Show’08
Beckons record size venue & record exhibitors
Taipei, Taiwan Nov. 30, 2007 - Asia’s top rated Taipei Int’l Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei) is to be held in conjunction with the Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (AMPA) and the Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 and the TWTC Nankang Exhibition Hall next April 9-12, 2008. The unprecedented scale of this combined event has drawn the eyes of the motoring world and attracted positive feedback in the auto and motorcycle industries. Without doubt this will be a landmark global event.
With the glowing success of AutoTronics 2007, exhibitors have been demanding even greater space allotments to field their latest products this spring. With them, hundreds of famous auto electronics suppliers have also booked the exhibition for next year to expand the original venue to blanket two exhibition areas in the coming year.
With the three related shows combined a record number of foreign buyers, domestic and foreign suppliers are expected to register for the exhibition. Coming are big names such as Renesas Technology, Fujitsu of Japan, the US leading telecommunication software developer Telcordia Technologies, Tokulumi from Hong Kong, Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation, E-LEAD Electronics, Liteon Automotive, Universal Scientific Industrial, Holtek Semiconductor, Hamg Shing Technology, Taiwan Calsonic, Everlight Electronics, Nanya Technology, MiTAC International, Tung Thih Enterprise and Mobiletron Electronics.
Products to be displayed at the coming show include LED products, GPS products, autotronic products, engine management and power systems, brake control and suspension and chassis systems, body electronic systems, autotronic parts and components, autotronic semiconductors, inspection equipment and services, autotronic process equipment, and much more! Theme Pavilions are also being planned for telematics--multimedia driver information and communications, and driving safety and security. The Innovative Product Competition will be organized to select the most representative innovative products in existence. Award-winning products will be recommended to buyers worldwide. The Fourth Taipei Int’l Autotronics Forum and the auto industry trend seminar will also be held to promote market and technology exchange. It is believed that suppliers devoted to R&D and the intricate planning of the organizer will again open great prospects for the autotronic industry.
AutoTronics Taipei 2007 attracted many leading autotronic suppliers form home and abroad: over 4,200 automakers, tier-one suppliers and distributors from Europe, America and Asia; and about 40,000 professional buyers from home and abroad. The number of attendees soared 130% over 2006. Included in the line-up were countless heavyweight buyers to make this show a qualitative and quantitative procurement experience for buyers. Among these buyers, Halfords, Magna, VW, PSA Peugeot Citroen, BMW, Mahindra (the biggest commercial SUV maker in India), and Euro 07 (the largest Bulgarian auto service part chain, and one of the largest importers of auto parts) have expressed their high recognition of the show. Results of the buyer satisfaction survey by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) indicated that over 93% of buyers were satisfied with the products, planning, equipment and services in the show, and that they would attend the exhibition next year.
While the importance of saving energy and environmental protection is gaining momentum, the percentage of mechanical auto parts is falling. More and more “visionary vehicles” have been replaced with IC control units such as driver-attention warning systems (sleepy/drowsy/inattentive warning systems), vehicle distance warning systems, and overhead display and night vision systems. According to statistics from IC Insights, the autotronics market in 2010 will command 40% of the entire auto market, and its value will reach about US$176 billion. As a result, Taiwan’s Executive Yuan (cabinet) has started to implement an intelligent transportation system demo area by integrating traffic information, detection, and control infrastructures. Besides helping motorists better know the status of their routes, traffic and weather conditions, the system also provides entertainment, mobile commerce, and security functions in order to develop intelligent vehicles that are comfortable, convenient, safe and environmental.
